Conservation volunteering and research projects for students and university groups
Information for University Students
Wild Mob offers a variety of conservation projects customised for university students. These camps are for both individual students and groups, and include a variety of international students and domestic students.
There are no prerequisites to take part in Wild Mob projects. Students majoring in all fields are welcome to join — from accounting to zoology. Our students hold in common an interest to learn firsthand about Australia’s unique biodiversity, help protect these area's and experience some of its most iconic places.
The projects provide a mix of conservation volunteering opportunities, hands-on environmental education and plenty of free time to relax and enjoy the impressive natural surroundings with experts in the field. We conduct all environmental work through partnerships we’ve built with a variety of stakeholders at each project location. These partnerships include collaboration with National Park managers and state governments, natural resource management professionals, local property owners and Indigenous cultural advisors.
Through these strategic partnerships, Wild Mob projects offer university students unique opportunities for hands-on research, surveying and learning activities. A few examples of research include coral surveys, feral predator monitoring via motion-activated cameras and sand plots, and bird species counts. All data is distributed to our project partners and other relevant authorities, which contributes to better natural resource management planning and regional conservation efforts.
