Renee Chapman

Renee is an urban ecologist and holds a Bachelor of Science degree with Honours from Griffith University and is a current PhD candidate at Griffith University. Her PhD project is concerned with the ways in which people can connect/reconnect with nature in a rapidly urbanising society. Although Renee has an academic interest in urban ecology, she has also had experience with reintroduction and conservation programs of endangered Australian mammals in rural South Australia.

About the Project

Moreton Bay is located on the East Coast of Australia, approximately 45km from Brisbane, Queensland. Moreton Bay is positioned where the warm tropical waters of the North meet with cooler temperate waters of the south. These factors combined with the large influx of freshwater from Brisbane river, gives rise to a wide variety of ecosystems existing all in the one area, rich in productivity and marine life.
